Bridging the Divide
The Law, Technology, and Business of Cyber Security
Yale University | March 3 - 5, 2019

Overview

The Yale Cyber Leadership Forum focuses on bridging the divide between law, technology and business in cybersecurity, exposing participants to effective approaches to recognizing, preparing for, preventing, and responding to cyber threats. The Forum brings together a diverse set of thought leaders, including practitioners from leading law firms, cybersecurity technology experts, policy experts and academics working at the cutting edge of cybersecurity. Global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company serves as the Forum’s knowledge partner.

Topics to be discussed include: the technical threat landscape, the regulatory and legal landscape (domestic and international); the cyber divide across different disciplines; making decisions about cyber-security in a world of uncertainty; what can be learned from recent cyber-attacks (do’s and don’t’s); how to restructure the legal and regulatory landscape to better bridge the divide; and much more.

The Forum is aimed at a diverse set of thought leaders who have faced the challenge of bridging the divide between law, technology, and business in cybersecurity. Participants include practitioners from leading law firms, cybersecurity technology experts, policy experts, and academics.

What past participants have to say:

The experience gained from attending the Forum was indispensable and highly effective in understanding and mitigating the overall and ever-emerging cybersecurity threat landscape!
— Randall Sylvertooth, Cyber Threat Intelligence Liaison Officer, U.S. Department of Energy

The Forum was an extremely valuable experience! The program was formatted in a way that brought legal counsel and technologists together to interact in a way that is somewhat atypical in everyday practice. This forum provided a solid link between two professions that were previously thought to be completely separate, and valuable insight from both a technical and regulatory perspective.
— Courtney Toth, Information Security Specialist, WVU Physicians of Charleston
